Dodge Sells First Electric Car
DETROIT — April 12, 2065
It was a long time coming — 40 years to be exact — but Stellantis Motors has officially announced the first-ever sale of an electric Dodge Charger.
“I’ve never seen one on the road, but there it was in the showroom, right next to a minivan. It’s not too often you find such a rare car in perfect condition, with under 5 miles on the odometer.”
The vehicle, originally produced in 2025, had remained unsold for decades as Dodge fans refused to acknowledge its existence. According to automotive historians, the sale marks the end of the longest dealership hold in U.S. history — beating out a 1997 Plymouth Neon that sat on a Montana lot until 2033.
Company executives celebrated the milestone as “proof that electrification has finally reached even the most stubborn corners of the American heartland.” The buyer, meanwhile, declined to comment further, citing concerns about “range anxiety” — not for the car, but for potential judgment from fellow Dodge owners.
When reached for comment, Stellantis confirmed that the dealership’s showroom will soon be renovated to include a charging station. Construction is expected to begin “as soon as someone requests it.”
